OUR STORY

BRIDE

Wendy Wen

GROOM

Matthew Daniel

You need a plan wen thinking about starting a family. We just didn’t know ours would start because of a software called Anaplan.
We first met when the company where I was working (shoutout ICG) started to recruit Wendy. I would like to say Wendy knew right away I was different, but I assume her first thought when meeting me was “oh great. Now I have to pretend I can tell the difference between this white guy and his other white guy coworker (James aka JC)”.  Despite this uphill battle for her, she decided to join the company.
Luckily, we would get paired on a project that would require me to travel to NYC every week for a good six months.  Fate stepped in because I had money traveling for work and Wendy had a list of restaurants she wanted to go to. So for the next few months, I’d sugar-daddy at dinner with my work per diem while we unknowingly went on too many dates to count.
I started to realize this girl was incredibly awesome, but there was one problem: she was already dating someone.  So when I heard that they broke up, I contained my excitement for as long as I could (maybe a week?), and mustered up the nerve to ask her out on a date, knowingly.
A little bit of jazz and a whole lot of convincing that it wouldn’t be weird at work, she agreed to give it a go, and we never looked back. I owe a lot to Anaplan and ICG: lifelong friends, our house, and, most importantly, finding Wendy.

Matt’s Version

My first impression of Matt was via his Linkedin photo circa 2012-2018 (IYKYK)…it wasn’t a great look (picture overly photoshopped barbie doll). So when I met him in real life, I was pleasantly surprised but didn’t think much of it.
Fast forward a year later and I happened to be getting brunch with both Jill and Lucy in Long Island City (my bridesmaids - a rare occurrence!) and they had a feeling I was smitten on a boy. Jill went on to grill me on every man I interacted with on a regular basis. They settled on Matt being the guy even before I realized my feelings for him. It was not long after that (I want to say a week) when we officially got together.
Our first week together was a whirlwind, from working with each other during the day to Rich Brian and Kaskade concerts at night, we practically saw each other 24/7.
I knew we had something special when I professed my love for him only a couple months later in the middle of our first fight, in the middle of Houston street, on our way to get late night Prince Street Pizza. And the rest was history!

Joey Anderson

Go checkout his bands Night Idea or Pyramid Mass. Otherwise, you can support by eating at a local Richmond Wendy’s

Tae Kneidinger

That’s K-n-e-i-d-i-n-g-e-r. Remember that when he’s on the PGA Tour

Jill Blakey

The only one that could walk in to my crib without knocking and go straight to the kitchen. While I make-pretend as an artist, she lives it every day as an accomplished architect

Lucy Liu

Know us for long enough and 99.9% guarantee you have called me Lucy and her Wendy. It’s so bad that she even thinks this was me in the photo
